Our next Day School, led by Faye McNeil, will be held on Saturday 22 November 2025
This is an Advanced Day School for dancers who are more experienced and already have a good standard of footwork and technique.
If you wish to attend this day school for advanced dancers, then you should be proficient in all the standard basic formations and be able to dance them without a walk through.
This includes figures of eight, reels of three on the sides or across, promenade and allemande for 2 or 3 couples, ladies’ chain, poussette in quick time, rights & lefts etc. In addition, you also need a good dancing knowledge of the formations in the list below.
The focus will be on further improving knowledge of dancing, posture, phrasing, team awareness and performance. If in doubt, please ask your class teacher.
| Double figure of eight | Men’s chain |
| Double triangles | Strathspey poussette |
| Set and Rotate for 2 or 3 couples | Knot for 2 or 3 couples |
| Set and turn corners | Reel of four on diagonal |
| Set to corners and partner | Reel of four starting from sides |
| Reel of three following formations above | Reel of three in tandem, changing lead |
About Faye
As a proud Wirral native, Faye is delighted to return to the Northwest, where her passion for Scottish Country Dancing first began. After attending RSCDS Wirral classes from the age of six, she was hooked and later moved to Edinburgh for university — to study, of course, but naturally, for even more dancing.

She now shares her love and enthusiasm for Scottish Country Dancing through teaching, whether in Edinburgh, at various workshops, or at RSCDS events including Summer School, the Autumn Gathering, and most recently, Spring Fling. Faye is very much looking forward to joining dancers in Cheshire and hopes to offer classes that combine technique with dances that bring something a little different.
